Ukraine’s Harry Potter Castle Destroyed
A devastating Russian missile attack has destroyed a picturesque estate in Ukraine, known as the ‘Harry Potter Castle.’ The attack, which took place in a Southern Ukrainian city, tragically claimed the lives of four people and injured 30 others, including two children and a pregnant woman.
The estate, fondly nicknamed the ‘Harry Potter Castle’ for its resemblance to a Scottish baronial pile, was a beloved landmark in the region. The missile strike not only obliterated the castle but also caused damage to nearly 20 residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.
Video footage and images released by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s office depicted the cone-shaped towers and roof of the educational institution engulfed in flames. Ukrainian authorities suspect that Russia utilized an Iskander ballistic missile and cluster munitions in the attack.
“This is an indiscriminate weapon, the use of which can lead to significant civilian casualties,” remarked a Ukrainian official. Metal fragments and missile debris were discovered within a 1.5 km radius from the attack site, indicating the destructive nature of the strike.
The investigation into the attack is ongoing, with Ukrainian authorities determined to hold those responsible for the “criminal orders” to shell peaceful Ukrainian cities accountable. In response, Russia claimed that its air defenses in Crimea successfully intercepted a major missile and drone attack by Ukraine.
The attack serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has persisted for over 25 months. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg recently criticized the slow delivery of aid from Ukraine’s Western allies, citing “serious delays” that allowed Russians to advance on the war frontline.
