Lucknow Super Giants Vs Gujarat Titans (LSG vs GT)
LSG Victorious Over GT by 33 Runs: The Lucknow Super Giants won draw against the Gujarat Titans by 33 runs during the experience of the IPL 2024, held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. This victory against the GT was LSG’s third consecutive one in the current IPL season and their first win against GT in the last five encounters.
LSG chose to bat after winning the toss but soon lost a few wickets due to good bowling by Umesh Yadav. Nevertheless, through their responsible captaincy from KL Rahul and a good fifty from Marcus Stoinis, who scored his first one this season, among other contributions from Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni, they were able to score 163 runs to put up a total target of GT to chase.
GT had a good start in their chase when their opening pair put up 54 runs without losing a wicket. However, from a promising position, they succumbed for 102, giving away the entire wickets. Yash Thakur took five wickets while Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya each claimed wickets for LSG. Notably, LSG played quite well in the absence of Mayank Yadav, who after bowling just one over, go injured and could not take part any further.
LSG vs GT: With this victory, LSG is third in the IPL 2024 standing, further cementing their status and credentials. Indeed, it was a total performance that saw LSG claim victory through a remarkable performance in all three areas; bowling, batting, and fielding. This performance in their last experience in the IPL sends a warning to other teams in the league that they are not relenting in their championship credential.
